At AGA we pride ourselves in our dedication to personal growth and professional development. This commitment is exemplified through our Magic School Buses, Analyst Training Program, and our strong workplace culture. The professional development provided at AGA has allowed many of our alumni to go on to great things in a variety of industries. See below for some of our success stories.
As an undergraduate at DePaul University studying Finance and Japanese, Jake tried his hand at entrepreneurship and began developing his own mobile app, IceBreaker. After graduation, the experience led him to entrepreneurial consulting and AGA. During almost two years with the firm, Jake developed skills in business analysis, strategy, finance, and project management. He was able to leverage these skills to make a rather bold career change. Jake is now a Mobile Delivery Analyst at Solstice Mobile, an Inc. 5000 company, where he manages a team of mobile developers. When asked about the career switch, Jake said, “Without the best-in-class training and mentorship I received at AGA, I would not have been able to make a smooth, cross-industry transition into software development.”
William Choi interned at AGA in the summer of 2012 following his sophomore year at Northwestern University. Through his past research positions at A.T. Kearney and the Kellogg School of Business, William already had a strong analytical background. At AGA, William was able to gain exposure to many unique aspects of entrepreneurial consulting including company valuation and financial modeling. The AGA experience, coupled with his strong analytical and critical thinking skills, positioned William well for an internship at a Chicago-based private equity firm that would lead to a full-time position as an Investment Banking Analyst with Deutsche Bank.
Coming to AGA with a corporate internship already in his back pocket, Jeff joined the team as a Business Analyst Intern for the winter quarter. While receiving credit towards a B.A. in Economics and Business Institutions at Northwestern University, Jeff supported and led initiatives across AGA’s entire client portfolio. Jeff’s ability to play both a lead and support role made him an invaluable resource during his time with the firm, and prepared him well for an internship opportunity with PWC’s consulting practice that led to a full-time position here in Chicago.
Eric came to AGA while a student with DePaul University’s Driehaus College of Business, studying for a B.S. in Finance with a minor in Management. While completing his coursework at DePaul, Eric focused on a number of marketing initiatives, both for our clients and for AGA internally. He had a knack for managing social channels and an obvious interest in the Chicago entrepreneurial community, particularly the technology sector. We wish him well in his role with Procurement at Boeing and hope that he can bring some of his entrepreneurial spirit to an established firm!
John Mark Giragosian
As a Financial Analyst Intern with AGA, John Mark applied his knowledge of finance and economics to provide clients with financial clarity and assist them in implementing practical and effective business solutions. After graduating AGA with high marks, he returned to dance with the Joffrey Ballet and finish out his senior year at Northwestern University. This summer, John Mark is working as an investment banking summer analyst at Morgan Stanley. While there he hopes to leverage and expand upon what he learned in the ATP in order to service large corporate clients and take on new and challenging projects.
Ross applied his extensive analytical and technical skills to drive change at AGA’s clients, drawing from his previous experience working for a small brokerage firm and a sports consulting agency. Having completed the Business Analyst Intern Program at AGA, Ross went into a senior year at Northwestern University well-equipped for the recruiting process for top-tier strategy consultancies. Ross leaves AGA to realize this goal as an Analyst with Alvarez and Marsal.
